Dr Nadeem Qureshi, GP / Senior Lecturer in Primary Care

Nadeem Qureshi was appointed in 2006 as Senior Clinical Lecturer in the Division of Primary Care at the University of Nottingham Graduate Entry Medical School after 15 years as a Principal in General Practice in Nottingham and 11 years as a Clinical Lecturer at the Undergraduate Medical School. Since 1999 he has led the NHS R&D funded “Clinical Genetics in Primary Care” programme. His principal research interests are the incorporation of genetic screening and familial risk assessment into primary care. Between 2004 and 2005 he was awarded a Harkness Fellowship in Healthcare Policy by the Commonwealth Fund, with a placement at the US National Office of Public Health Genomics, Center for Disease Control and Prevention, under the mentorship of Professor Muin Khoury. Whilst in Atlanta he also held an Adjunct Associate Professor appointment in Epidemiology at Emory University and was on the Advisory Board of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation funded “Race, genetics, and health care” project.
